• FLORENCIE – WCO-IOF-ESCEO 22.–24.3.2017

During the dates 22nd to 24th March 2017 OAZ Zlín participated in the CNS meetings under the IOF membership for patients’ organisations, which took place in Florence, Italy this year.

The medical congress WCO-IOF-ESCEO which followed from 23rd to 26th of March 2017 was also important for OAZ. We presented one medical poster.
Mgr. Hana Atcheson and Iva Nováková represented OAZ during the CNS meetings. On 22nd March we gave a short presentation with a report on OAZ activities during the year 2016 and also about activities organised specifically for the WOD 2016. Our activities and the presentation was appreciated, among many others, e.g. from Jordan, Israel, Romania, Australia, USA, Iran, Colombia, and Kuwait.
Next, our active participation in the CNS village organised by IOF in Malaga last year was recognised and appreciated.

The following conference days were filled with presentations and also active workshops. The OAZ members were able to share their experience at the round table with representatives from Greece, Taiwan, Indonesia, Belarus, Finland, Australia, and Israel.

The last conference day was important for its advocacy to all osteoporosis patients. Representatives from Syria received the Best WOD 2016 Campaign award, the session presented the best patients stories and positive lifestyle habits were stressed during several presentations. 

The Global Patient Charter was launched on the 24th March in Florence. Our patients’ organisation OAZ Zlín is one of the first patients’ organisations who officially support this petition.
